I began with film--then journalism at NYU---and after assisting editorial and advertising photographers, started shooting movie stills in New York. Always liked capturing the characters more than the beauties.
I could shoot an actor for hours and found mostly minutes, and owe most of my shots to gaffers who were nice enough to wait a few extra moments to strike the lights.
Personally, the social and natural landscape is fulfilling work. I'm in the permanent collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, On Record at the Museum of Modern Art, and I love shooting in the Sierra backcountry.
I wish I could have photographed Georgia O'Keefe--now there's a face.
